We work with employers and software vendors on the payroll and workforce programs that are hard to get right. Complex awards and EBAs, configuration, testing, parallel runs, go-live.
One clause, carried the whole way through. The clause is made up. The shape is what every job looks like.
Traceable from legislation to payslip.
01 › The clause, as written
cl. 21.3(b) · shift loading A shiftworker who works a shift commencing before 6.00 am or finishing after 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday, is entitled to a loading of 15% of the ordinary hourly rate for the whole of that shift. The loading is not payable on hours paid at overtime rates.
02 › The rule, and the number it should produce
SHF‑014 · Level 3 · $32.40/hr
Tue 05:30–13:30 · 8.00 ord · 0.00 OT
Ordinary 8.00 × 32.40 259.20
Loading 8.00 × 4.86 38.88
$298.08
Expected gross, before the system ever runs
It works backwards as well. A variance in a parallel run traces to a test case, the test case to a rule, and the rule to whichever clause got read wrong. That’s how a reconciliation stops being four thousand rows and becomes six things to fix.
The same three stages on every program, whether we run the workstream or sit inside someone else’s team.
From clause to go-live.
We read the award, the EBA and the way payroll actually runs today, then write requirements the payroll team can check and a consultant can build from.
We work through configuration, test design, SIT and UAT with your team and your vendor, and chase the defects until they close.
Parallel runs, reconciliation, cutover, go-live and hypercare. Every variance traces back to the requirement it came from.
We use AI to get through the volume faster. A payroll specialist still reads the award and owns the sign-off.
Take the whole lifecycle, or one piece of it.
We map how payroll and the workforce actually run now, work through the Award and EBA conditions that apply, and write the requirements up so both sides can agree on them.
We turn the complicated conditions into rules a system can run: decision logic, worked examples, and the number each one should produce.
Hands-on configuration and implementation work in your WFM or payroll platform, alongside the client and vendor teams already on it.
Test strategy, scenarios and expected results, then execution, defect triage, and traceability back to the requirement each test came from.
Old system against new at employee and pay-component level. We find the variances, work out what caused them, and close them out.
Readiness, cutover, production validation, issue management, and the handover to BAU once it settles.
A specialist Australian delivery partner for WFM and payroll platforms.
Australian delivery capacity, without building another permanent team.
We work alongside software vendors and implementation partners on discovery, award interpretation, configuration, testing, parallel and go-live. We’ll either own a defined workstream outright, or add specialist capacity to a project team you already have.
We take responsibility for an implementation or payroll workstream and report into your project structure.
We add Australian payroll and WFM capability to a delivery team you’ve already built.
We bring Award, EBA and Australian payroll knowledge into product and implementation decisions.
Partnering
Where a program needs broader capability, we bring in specialist technology and transformation firms we work with.
Where we’ve delivered, and what carries over between them.
Platform experience matters. Payroll logic matters more. We work across the boundary between legislation, payroll operations and system configuration.
Two programs, in the words of the people who ran them.
“She was particularly strong at interpreting complex Award requirements and translating them into practical Humanforce solutions. She took ownership of Humanforce upgrades end-to-end, from discovery and requirements through testing, training delivery, cutover and go-live. She also played an important role in parallel run activities.”
Aveo — Humanforce WFM transformationWFM Program Manager · 2021–22
“She brought strong payroll and workforce management expertise, particularly in interpreting complex Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements and translating them into clear, workable system requirements. She bridged the gap between Payroll, business stakeholders and technical teams, and was instrumental across requirements, testing and solution validation.”

Three ways a Clauseworks engagement usually runs.
Flexible engagement models.
Take us on for a defined workstream, for specialist capacity on a project, or for the whole delivery.
A defined outcome, agreed deliverables, and a price you know up front.
An agreed number of specialist days a month, for as long as the program runs.
We work inside your project team for a set period and own the workstreams we’re given.
